How the North America Map Quiz works

25 questions, one unlabeled map of North America, and one country or territory to find each time. You answer by clicking it on the map rather than picking from a list, which means you need to know where each one sits and not just that it exists. A correct click turns the region green and scores a point; a wrong click turns that region red and you can try again — the round only reveals the answer if you skip.

From the largest countries to the islands

North America is anchored by three very large countries, but the quiz quickly moves beyond them. The Caribbean islands and the narrow states of Central America sit close together, which makes telling them apart the real test. Because the whole map stays in view, you can use the coast, the islands and your neighbors as landmarks while you work out an answer.

Where to go next

Once North America feels comfortable, the countries of the world quiz widens the view to every continent, and the Central America map quiz zooms into the narrowest part of the region. If you would rather practice on a single country, the U.S. states quiz applies the same format to the fifty states.
