How the Middle East Map Quiz works

15 questions, one unlabeled map of the Middle East, and one country to find each round. You answer by clicking the country on the map rather than choosing from a list, so every answer has to come from your own sense of where each country sits. A correct click turns the region green and scores a point; a wrong click turns that region red and you can try again — the round only reveals the answer if you skip.

Why the Middle East is a region of landmarks

The Middle East mixes some of the region's largest countries with its smallest states. Egypt and Turkey are easy anchors, while the Gulf states and the Levant — Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Lebanon, Israel and Palestine — sit close together and demand a much finer eye. Because the whole region stays in view, you can use the Nile, the Arabian Peninsula, the Persian Gulf and the Red Sea as landmarks while you work through each question.
